Heartworm is a series of zines that I did in school that re-explores the oldest neighbourhoods in Singapore. I wanted to show the rich cultures of these neighbourhoods through the sights and sounds of these places—or an audio-visual connection. Sight, smell & hearing are the 3 main senses that bring about nostalgia. Sadly, there was no way I could reproduce the smells in those places.The same experience told by my parents and the older people I know is them getting all nostalgic when hearing sounds and seeing sights they haven't seen in years after Singapore became a developed country. What better way to re-explore these places than through audio-visual material?
